David has extensive general paediatric orthopaedic experience, however his special interests include disorders of the hip (hip dysplasia, Perthes disease, slipped femoral epiphyses), sporting injuries, trauma/fractures, and neuromuscular conditions. David’s adult orthopaedic interests include hip and knee arthroplasty, sporting injuries, joint reconstructions, foot and ankle conditions, and trauma.

Our Practice

Please contact the rooms for further information regarding appointment costs.

If surgery is required, Dr Bade does not charge any out of pocket costs for the surgical procedure for those who are privately insured. There may be extra costs for the anaesthesia or an excess from your Health Fund.

The decision not to charge a Gap fee is a personal one and with no deals or discussions with the Health Funds. Instead Dr Bade would like to encourage his patients (if financially able) to consider a donation to further paediatric orthopaedic research through the Children’s Hospital Foundation. (www.childrens.org.au/ortho) Again please contact the rooms for further information.

If you are uninsured, we will be able to provide you a quote for Dr Bade’s surgical service.

FRACTURES/TRAUMA

Few practices have the experience of our team in treating paediatric and adult orthopaedic trauma. Having a skilled and experienced orthopaedic technician on site allows us to effectively and efficiently treat fractures requiring non-operative management. Better still most fracture treatments are bulk billed and if a cast is required a small fee will be charged. Contact the rooms regarding these costs. We have dedicated trauma appointments to ensure you can be treated in an appropriate time frame.

There is a wide range of cast colours and patterns available.

Protectacast covers are available for purchase.

Referral from your health practitioner will be triaged by Dr Bade.

If your referral is from your GP or another medical specialist, you are able to claim a rebate through Medicare.

Please note a referral from a GP is valid for 12 months and a referral from a Specialist Consultant is valid for 3 months.

Dr Bade currently only has appointment times available on a Thursday.
