David became a Fellow of the royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2012 and was appointed a Staff Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Mater Adults and Mater Children’s Hospitals that same year.
David is actively involved in various professional bodies including the AOA, APOS, RACS, AMA and the University of Queensland, and is also heavily involved in research through the Queensland Children’s Hospital.
David Bade is an orthopaedics surgeon who specialises in both paediatric and adult orthopaedic conditions.
After being appointed a Staff Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Mater Adults and Mater Children’s Hospitals, David then embarked on further training, completing a Clinical Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship at the world renowned British Columbia Children’s Hospital in 2014. David is currently the Director of Orthopaedics at the Queensland Children’s Hospital and still a Staff Specialist at the Mater Adults Hospital. I perform private surgeries at the Mater Children’s Private Brisbane and the Mater Private Adults Hospital South Brisbane.
I provide an orthopaedic outreach service to South West Queensland through the Roma Hospital where I operate and consult monthly. I also visit the Townsville Hospital twice year coordinated through the Queensland Children’s Hospital. My paediatric orthopaedic interests are broad and only exclude spinal conditions. My special interests are disorders of the hip (hip dysplasia, Perthes disease, slipped femoral epiphyses), sporting injuries, all trauma/fractures and neuromuscular conditions.
My adult orthopaedic interests are again broad and include hip and knee arthroplasty, sporting injuries and joint reconstruction, conditions of the foot and ankle and trauma. David consults in my rooms at Dutton Park Suites on a Thursday where I’m fortunate to be assisted by experienced, capable and friendly staff. Our nurses (Katie and Anna) have decades of orthopaedic nursing experience, while Stan our orthopaedic technician is one of the most experienced in Queensland.
